Performance description

ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE:

The decision is just a beginning. As soon as you make one, you immerse in a powerful stream which carries you to a place you had no idea about at the moment of deciding.

What the critics say:

There are dancers of subtle charm and inconspicuous charisma who are still capable of creating a strong magnetic field on stage, who are masters of grand forte gestures. Kateřina Stupecká is undeniably one of the kind. She has discovered the secret of processing energy, she knows how to concentrate it, dissolve it , cumulate and transmit it. Her breaking through piece, the solo Da Capo made on Kryštof Mařatkaś music, is an energetic-emotional fomula the compact character, visual concept, and precision of performing of which gained Kateřina the most important choreographic Prize in the Czech Republic – The Sazka Prize.

It was a “discovery” for me too. The choreography is astounding, full of ideas and so far unseen elements. The music (Kryštof Mařatka – Astrofonia) is amazing and, moreover, the dancer moves in total symbiosis with it. The performer danced certain longer passages with her hands raised, unmoving, bent in her elbows and her fingers spread – it evoked the Indian visions: the music or dance itself didn´t seem in any way oriental though. I almost feel sorry now that I even started analysing the piece by means of such useless babble, I should have written right away that Da Capo left me totally flabbergasted.
