Performance description
The principal force of this piece is tension. We will play with you by diving deep into the subjectives experiences of strong emotions and then pulling you out again with humorous situations, keeping you above everything happening inside of you.*
*Explosion* is a dance work of four dancers in which the humour that arises from the handling of scenographic material and the barely controllable physical energy, emerging from anger and unite in a surreal way. It addresses the contemporary phenomenon of living in an “angry society”, in which constant stimulation from our environment leads to inner and outer tensions accumulating to the point where explosion seems to be the only way out.
Through expressive and disturbing, yet captivating scenes, *Explosion triggers the spectator’s inner reflection. How do they reflect on the fact that they live in an “angry society” where violence is part of our daily lives? Do they enjoy being angry? Do anger and violence scare them? Is it all too much at the same time?
