The "KOAN" solo is a reflection on a solitary journey within the contemporary landscape where, amidst the noise and chaos, individuals search for clarity and understanding within themselves. It speaks to the paradoxical nature of our existence, oscillating between confusion and insight, rage and serenity, as we are watched by the collective consciousness. Like a traditional koan, it invites contemplation and introspection by encouraging us to explore the depths of our own minds and perceptions.

Julyen Hamilton, a world-renowned performer and educator with over 40 years of experience in instant composition and improvisation. He sees theatre as a space for transformation and insight. He collaborates with various artists and directs his own dance company, Allen's Line.
