After completing her dance degree, Sophie-Jan relocated to Europe to become a Freelance Artist. Now she continues to teach, train, choreograph, improvise, act, collaborate, facilitate, and perform. She enjoys opportunities to connect and dance with others... Realising the power of Dance/Art, in connecting and uniting people, cultures, and communities, Sophie-Jan is devoting her time and energy to share this; helping to create a change for the better, in ourselves, and our world!

Sophie-Jan Meklons is a Certified Facilitator of the dance and healing practice, Contact Beyond Contact (CBC). She's initiating CBC sessions in Prague and creating a safe environment in which people can integrate, transform, and heal - in body, mind, heart, and spirit.

As Rehearsal for Reality's Associate Artist, Sophie-Jan Meklons uses Dance as a medium to explore and express meaning, questions, ideas, thoughts & feelings that are embedded in RfR's work. Sophie-Jan assists with creating dance/movement pieces for individual and group projects, plus she choreographs and performs contemporary dance solos, adding depth and dimension to Rehearsal for Reality's productions.

Co-founder and active member of Prague Playbackers, the first English-speaking playback theater ensemble in the Czech Republic, Sophie-Jan organizes and performs at various events and festivals throughout the country.

As a teacher of dance, Sophie-Jan can guide you, your child, or your social group, through a variety of dance styles and movement techniques. Ideal for anyone – no matter if you're just interested in moving, want to refresh your techniques, or wish to pursue new skills.

Collaborating with Walking Wood - Chodící Dřevo, Sophie-Jan facilitates theater workshops and educational programs, incorporating many forms of the Performing Arts such as improvisation, playback theatre, dancing, acting, puppetry, and scenography.

With a passion for performing, Sophie-Jan is happy to entertain at any celebration, event, or festival. With her skills in understanding people, along with improvisation, she can collaborate with any artist, or work solo – and you may find it hard to suppress a smile, tear, or laugh...
