Performance description
**Prometheus* is a dance and acrobatic show that transports the audience to the world of ancient Greece.**
*A unique spectacle in the Czech Republic – a mesmerizing blend of dance, acrobatics, and live music in Prague for the first time.*
On 3 October 2024, the Hybernia Theater in Prague will present *Prometheus* – a dance-acrobatic spectacle that will take the audience to the magical world of ancient Greece. The show narrates the myth of Prometheus, who awakened thinking, creativity, and curiosity among humans with the help of fire stolen from the gods.
Director Kamil J. Przyboś combines stage movement, spectacular acrobatics, elements of ancient theater, and fascinating music to create a breathtaking, monumental show. *Prometheus* is an impressive, spectacular, and sophisticated performance – a combination of dance, acrobatics and live music. The creators of the show build tension by offering the audience a range of sensations and emotions, interweaving scenes that are dynamic and quiet, dramatic and comic, and spectacular and intimate. The essence of the show is the spectacular circus acrobatics that amaze with the display of capabilities of the human body.
The performance draws on the heritage of ancient theater and gives it a modern dimension that inspires and delights. At the same time, *Prometheus* is not just a collection of dance and acrobatic scenes but also a carefully told story with a timeless message. It is a drama in which the actors, without words, take flight and take the audience on a metaphorical journey through the dawn of humanity.
The live music concert is an integral part of *Prometheus. Original compositions by Elżbieta Sokołowska are presented on stage by numerous artists – the Wrocław Music Choir. The entire performance is complemented by soloists who, in the role of mythical Muses, sing songs in ancient Greek.
